Nevarra
A prosperous and fertile kingdom, Nevarra stretches between the shores of the Waking Sea and the dense forests bordering the Free Marches. It has emerged as a respected power in central Thedas, being the location the Nevarran Accord was signed, the treaty that brought the Inquisition and Chantry together, forming the Templars proper and the Circle of Magi in Orlais.

It has maintained its independence from both the Tevinter Imperium to its north and Orlais to its southwest. Nevarrans are known for their pragmatic nature, their renowned skill in stone work and masonery, and their reverence for the dead.
Environment
The heartlands of Nevarra are rich with fertile soil, nourished by a network of rivers that flow steadily toward the Waking Sea. In the northern regions, dense woodlands provide abundant timber and wild game, while the southern territories contain marshes and wetlands, periodically flooded by heavy rains. Winters in Nevarra tend to be mild, though coastal storms can occasionally batter the land with powerful winds and intense rainfall.

Most Nevarrans make their living farming, fishing, or trading in timber and expertly carved stone. Ancient Tevinter highways still see some use, now carefully maintained and taxed by Nevarran noble houses.
Culture & Society
Nevarrans value practicality, resilience, and craftsmanship. They are particularly celebrated for their skill in stone carving, masonry, and architecture. This prowess is most visibly showcased in the impressive castles, sturdy city walls, and elaborate crypts of Nevarra.

Ancient burial traditions stand, honored dead are entombed in grand stone mausoleums and ornate necropolises. Festivals celebrating seasonal cycles and ancestral remembrance are commonplace. Oral storytelling remains integral, with bards recounting sagas of kings, known warriors, and renowned artisans who were worthy of monumental tombs rather than placards or an over investment on libraries.
Politics
Nevarra is unified under a stable monarchy centered in the capital city, Nevarra City. Noble houses wield considerable autonomy within their territories. Each lord or lady commands surrounding towns and villages, commanding their own resources like fertile lands, river crossings, mines, and hunting grounds.

Rivalries between nobles occasionally erupt for the sake of disputed lands or contested trade routes. Outright war is uncommon, but skirmishes are frequent. Nevarran nobility maintains modest, disciplined armies bolstered by common levies. Overall, nobility is pragmatic and simple in their goings.
